The Grammys and *THAT* Ariana DeBose performance at the BAFTAs may be last month’s news now, but music is still very much on our minds as we look ahead to Prime Video's March release slate for UK subscribers.

Riley Keough and Sam Claflin are primed to get our toes tapping and hearts thumping in long-awaited musical drama adaptation Daisy Jones & The Six, which will be appointment viewing every Friday for the next couple of months.

Elsewhere, some serious Stan vibes surround Donald Glover and Janine Nabers’ Swarm, a binge watch drama with a horror edge that digs into the darker side of pop fandom.

On the original film front, erotic boxing revenge flick Perfect Addiction is Prime Video’s chosen prizefighter for March, making for an eyebrow raising bit of alternative programming to Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming threequel Creed III.

Plus, if that isn’t enough for you, monster mash-up Godzilla vs Kong will be smashing its way on to the streamer this month too.

Here's everything we know is heading to Prime Video UK in the next month...

Original movies coming to Prime Video UK in March 2023

Perfect Addiction | 24 March

If you ever found yourself watching a Rocky film and thinking “This could do with a few more sex scenes actually,” then Prime Video’s new original erotic revenge offering Perfect Addiction may just be exactly what you’re looking for.

Adapted from Claudia Tan’s ‘Perfect’ YA series, a Wattpad sensation that’s amassed over 170 million reads to date, the film follows boxing trainer Sienna (Kiana Madeira), who discovers that her reigning champ boyfriend (Matthew Noszka) has been cheating on her with her own sister.

Daisy Jones & The Six | Weekly from 3 March

Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s NYT bestselling book, musical drama Daisy Jones & The Six has — very aptly — been drumming up a lot of attention in the build-up to its Prime Video premiere this March.

Riley Keough and Sam Claflin star as Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, the charismatic leaders of the fictitious titular band, who rose to prominence on the ‘70s LA music scene, achieving iconic status only to spectacularly implode under mysterious circumstances.

Framed as the “true story” behind the band’s rise and fall, told by the group themselves, this one — boasting a remarkable attention to era authentic detail, which extends to 24 entirely original songs recorded for the series by the cast — is shaping up to be a real hit.

Swarm | 17 March

Swarm (Prime Video)
Swarm (Prime Video)

An altogether darker sounding music-based drama hitting Prime Video this month is Swarm, co-created by Atlanta alumni Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. J

udas and the Black Messiah breakout star Dominique Fishback plays Dre, a young woman whose obsession with a pop star incurs bloody consequences. Supposedly inspired by the rabid fanbase of Beyoncé, the teaser sees Dre repeatedly being asked who her favourite artist is, eventually climaxing with a pool of blood being mopped up as the show’s title appears.

We’re expecting this one to be less a sweet dream, more a beautiful nightmare.

The Power | Episodes 1-3 drop 31 March, then weekly

The Power (Prime Video)
Toni Collette stars in The Power. (Prime Video)

Hailed on release as the kind of essential feminist work that “terrifies and illuminates, enrages and encourages”, Naomi Alderman’s incendiary sci-fi novel about a world where women with electrical powers overthrow the patriarchy finally makes its way onto our screens this March.

Alderman is a creative lead for the show, which rocks an all-women writers’ room and an impressive ensemble featuring Toni Collette, Moana star Auli’i Cravalho, and Ted Lasso’s Toheeb Jimoh. There’s all the right ingredients here for an electrifying watch.
