Robert De Niro On Donald Trump: ‘He Is Totally Nuts’
Robert De Niro knows a thing or two about insane people. Having expertly portrayed Travis Bickle, Max Cady, and Rupert Pupkin the actor is able to see the signs.
So when Robert De Niro calls Donald Trump “totally nuts” everyone should listen. And that’s exactly what he’s just done.
“I don’t know, it’s crazy that people that Donald Trump …, he shouldn’t even be where he is, so God help us,” De Niro declared, via Reuters. “What he’s been saying is really totally crazy, ridiculous … he is totally nuts.”
The Oscar-winning actor made these comments about the Republican Presidential candidate while at Sarajevo National Theatre to promote the 40th anniversary release of ‘Taxi Driver’, and his remarks were immediately met with rapturous applause by the audience.
But De Niro does see some light at the end of the tunnel, though.
Because he believes that the media is finally starting to hold Donald Trump truly accountable for some of the outlandish comments he’s made, which this week alone saw him insist Barack Obama was the founder of ISIS and that there’s a good chance the election will be rigged in favour of Hillary Clinton.
“But I think now they are really starting to push back, the media … finally they are starting to say, ‘Come on Donald, this is ridiculous, this nuts, this is insane,” De Niro continued.
In fact, things have got so bad that Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign has almost been as unforgivable as some of Robert De Niro’s recent film choices.
Almost.
