Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson fail to hit it off in The Hitman's Bodyguard

Ryan Reynolds? Samuel L. Jackson? Hitman action-comedy? Sign us up.

Forthcoming romp ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ finds Reynolds’ ‘Triple A-rated executive protection agent’ and his a former adversary, Jackson’s loose-cannon assassin, thrown together with some mixed results.

Well, actually, really rather poor results, by the evidence here.

Clashing from the off – *that* punch in the face – they have 24-hours to get from England to The Hague in order to defeat a shady Eastern European dictator (played by Gary Oldman).

Hurl in Salma Hayek as Jackson’s equally notorious wife and Richard E. Grant (plus the theme from ‘The Bodyguard’ liberally applied), and this looks like a winner.

Oh, and Ford C-MAX drivers… you’ll be pleased to note that your motor of choice is, at long last, being used in a Hollywood car chase.

Well, a Dutch car chase.

You know what we mean.

It’s out on August 18.
