Stan Lee Reveals His Least Favourite Marvel Movie
Stan Lee has revealed that the Marvel movie he hates the most is 2005’s ‘Fantastic Four’, while at the same giving a rather specific reason for his hatred, too.
The 93-year-old comic book legend, who co-created ‘Spider-Man’, ‘X-Men’, and ‘The Avengers’, told Comic Book Resources at Fan Expo Canada that he never warmed to the film due to Julian McMahon’s portrayal of Doctor Doom. Ouch.
“I was a little disappointed in the very first ‘Fantastic Four’, because I didn’t care for how Doctor Doom was portrayed,” Lee confessed. “But other than that, I thought the movie was great. And the actors were terrific.”
Stan Lee quickly made a U-turn on his remarks, though, stating that he hasn’t actually been disappointed by any Marvel cinematic adaptation.
“I’m delighted with how they all turned out,” Lee insisted. “None of them have disappointed me. In fact, I think all of these movies have come out better than everybody ever thought they would.”
Stan Lee isn’t likely to be confronted by too many people disagreeing with his assessment of ‘Fantastic Four’, though, as it’s widely agreed to be one of the worst comic-book adaptations of recent memory, with a score of just 27% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Still, who knew that Stan Lee could be so evil?
