Tom Hiddleston Is DEFINITELY Out Of The Running For James Bond

There have been months of will he or won’t he speculation whether Tom Hiddleston will be the next James Bond, but apparently word has emerged that it’ll never ever happen.

While the decision doesn’t come from Bond producer Barbara Broccoli directly, the news came to light when author Frederick Forsyth, the best-selling author of ‘The Day of The Jackal’, revealed that he knew the British actor would never get the role in the Mail on Sunday (via The Evening Standard).

“I got a tip the other day which I’ll share with you. I understand (Bond producer) Barbara Broccoli is absolutely no way going to pick Tom Hiddleston. No. Way.”

It’s believed that while Forsyth won’t expose his source, it could be the opinion of Broccoli herself which, for obvious reasons, would be the final, undisputed word on that.

A number of big names have been bandied around, with Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Aidan Turner all mentioned and, at one time or another, seem to have been bookie favourites.

But amongst Hiddleston’s huge, die-hard fanbase the call for him to assume the role of the next 007 has been strong, despite his recent romantic links to pop star Taylor Swift, which has seen the often reserved, suave actor at the forefront of the media spotlight wearing an ‘I [heart] T.S.’ top in one of the many public outings the pair have made in recent months. Whether this has caused the powers that be to reconsider his suitability is anyone’s guess, but whoever Broccoli ends up choosing, it’s unlikely we’’ll ever heard just why Hiddleston isn’t the right man for the job.

And just to add fuel to the fire, Forsyth decided to share his views on the idea of a female Bond, which won’t make him popular with a lot of people.

“A Janie Bond? I don’t think so. I’m going to be sexist here, I don’t think it has the credibility. The public are die-stamped with the idea that Wexford is a fella; Morse is a fella; Lewis is a fella. There is Vera, but the others…Rosemary and Thyme? I just can’t believe them. They simply don’t convince.”

Saying that women don’t convince as strong, heroic types as well as his admittance to being sexist won’t win his any news fans, with the likes of Emily Blunt proving she could more than handle her own in ‘Sicario’ but would also make a superb Bond if the opportunity ever arose.
