Does this count as method acting?

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he – ahem – pleasured himself for real during a movie scene where he was required to – ahem – pleasure himself.

The offending (and we are indeed most deeply offended) film was 'Little Ashes', a Spanish movie released in 2008, the same year he made the first 'Twilight' movie.

In it, he played the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, with the plot following Dali's love affair with the poet Federico Garcia Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.

Speaking to Germany's Interview magazine, he apparently said: “My orgasm face is recorded for eternity.”

He then went on to add that faking such things 'doesn't work, so I pleasured myself in front of the camera'.

It emerged yesterday that Pattinson was the first choice to play Christian Grey in the forthcoming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie.

Quite what he'd have done for real in that film, we genuinely shudder to think...
