Dave Bautista doesn't know if Drax survives Avengers 3 (exclusive)

Dave Bautista, the actor who play Drax The Destroyer in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, has admitted he doesn’t know whether his character makes it out of the third ‘Avengers’ film alive or dead.

“I’ve shot some of ‘The Avengers’ [Infinity War] now,” Bautista told Yahoo Movies while promoting the second ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film, but he remained tight-lipped on his character’s future beyond that.

“First of all, I have to hope that [Drax] makes it through ‘Avengers’. I’m assuming that he will make it through ‘Avengers’ and go on to [‘Guardians of the Galaxy’] Vol. 3.”

Either Dave Bautista is being coy, or he genuinely hasn’t seen a full script for the third ‘Avengers’ movie currently in production right now. The Guardians are set to join forces with the Avengers in ‘Infinity War’ and take on Josh Brolin’s Thanos in the culmination of Marvel Studios’ Phase 3 movies.

As for where he’d like to see Drax go next in the recently-announced third ‘Guardians’ film, Bautista would like to look back in time, rather than forward.

“I’d like to tell more of the backstory of Drax and his family and how he lost them.”

James Gunn, the writer and director of both ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies says ‘Volume 3’ will be “the end for this iteration of the Guardians”.

“These three movies will tell a complete story and we’ll see where the characters and what happens and that’ll lead to other things as well within that, within the Marvel Cosmic Universe, so we’re working all that out for you guys now.”

Pom Klementieff, who plays ‘Guardians’ newcomer Mantis, says she’s currently filming her part in ‘Infinity War’ confirming that she’ll also be returning for ‘Volume 3’.

“I’m just going to be playing this character until I die!” she joked.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ arrives in UK cinemas tomorrow.
