Harley Quinn to be the biggest Halloween costume of the 2016
As people search for the most on-trend Halloween costume for this year’s festivities, one name is coming up more than any other – Harley Quinn.
Margot Robbie’s character from ‘Suicide Squad’ has been confirmed as the most-searched for costume both in the UK and the US.
– Zack Snyder reveals new Wonder Woman image
– Benedict Cumberbatch teases Doctor Strange’s Phase 4 involvement
– Leo DiCaprio set to play Elvis’s producer in new biopic
So it’ll be boxing boots and ‘Daddy’s Little Monster’ slogan t-shirts dominating parties across the land this year.
But the shape of how we celebrate Halloween in the UK is changing, according to stats from costume company Morphsuits.
Star Wars costumes have outsold traditional vampire and witch outfits in London so far this year, marking a shift towards the American trend for fancy dress and movie themes rather than purely scary outfits.
The economy of Halloween has also ballooned in recent years, from being worth just £12 million in 2002 to a predicted £310 million this year, and £295 million last year.
Wonder Woman and The Joker outfits also feature in the top five most-searched for this year too, as well as Superman, Catwoman and the Johnny Depp-style pirate from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
