Keira Knightley confirmed for Pirates of the Caribbean 5
Keira Knightley will indeed appear in the fifth ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’.
Her role in the movie had been rumoured, but now one of the international trailers (check it below) shows her Elizabeth Turner (formerly Elizabeth Swann) in all her glory.
Along with Orlando Bloom, she’s making a likely brief return to the franchise after sailing off at the end of the third Pirates movie, ‘At World’s End’.
With Bloom back on the scene for ‘Salazar’s Revenge’, so is Knightley, playing the parents of new hero Henry Turner, played by Australian actor Brenton Thwaites.
His character is on a quest to discover more about his father, and the curse which befell him – to become the immortal captain of Davy Jones’ ghostly ship The Flying Dutchman.
The movie also finds Jack Sparrow – who has, according to co-director Joachim Rønning, lost his pirating mojo – pursued by the undead pirate hunter Armando Salazar, played by Javier Bardem.
Also on the bill is Kaya Scodelario as fiesty astronomer Carina Smyth, alongside returning characters like Geoffrey Rush’s Barbossa and Stephen Graham’s Scrum.
It’s due out in the UK on May 26.
