Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will present us with an aspect of Emma Watson we haven’t encountered on screen before: her singing voice.

And now, we have our first snippet of Watson’s vocal cords in action.

Snippets of Watson singing the track ‘Something There’ were initially released in recent days to Instagram, taken from recordings of a soon-to-be-released singing Hasbro doll of Belle.

The sound quality wasn’t great on these clips, so it’s nice to see that Disney have released an official stereo clip of the track to the Beauty and the Beast Twitter page.

It may be a brief snippet, but it should be more than enough to prove that Watson can hit the notes as easily as she used to say “expelliarmus!”

Directed by Bill Condon, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ casts the erstwhile ‘Harry Potter’ actress alongside Dan Stevens (‘Downton Abbey,’ ‘The Guest’) as the cursed Beast, whilst Luke Evans is Gaston, Josh Gad is Le Fou, and Kevin Kline is Belle’s father.

Meanwhile, the voices from Beast’s enchanted home include Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts.

And we can hear them all singing their hearts out when ‘Beauty and the Beast’ opens on 17 March 2017.
