It’s been 14 years since Jude Law’s affair with his children’s nanny hit the headlines but now he admits he can shrug off the jokes about it.

However, that wasn’t the case when he learnt he was used as a punchline in the 2008 Sex and the City film. In one scene, Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha Jones says: “There ought to be a law against hiring a nanny who looks like that,” to which Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw replies: “Yeah, the Jude Law.”

The actor revealed to The Telegraph in an interview that “little things like that used to freeze my blood.

“I would be left absolutely crippled. But nowadays it just bounces off,” he continued. “I’m like, ‘Is that all you’ve got?’ I mean, I’m doing the thing I love, I have a happy home life, I’m very proud of my children, and I’m healthy, thank goodness.

“So if people are still throwing paper darts at me… I mean, Christ! If that’s what rocks their boat, let ‘em do it.”
