The Crow remake moves forward without Relativity
It looks as though ‘The Crow’ remake has changed hands…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming remake of ‘The Crow’ has left Relativity… and has been picked up by a group led by Davis Films.
“The Crow remake has flown the Relativity coop,” they revealed. “Samuel Hadida’s Davis Films, Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow have acquired the rights to finance, produce and distribute The Crow Reborn, a reboot of the cult classic franchise.”

The good news? It’s been given a title - ‘The Crow Reborn’.
“Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, will produce [‘The Crow Reborn’] alongside Hadida. Highland Film Group, which will handle international sales, and Electric Shadow also are producing. Pressman and Relativity developed the film, which will be a more faithful adaptation of the original graphic novel written by James O’Barr. Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh will executive produce.”
But what about director Corin Hardy? Will he still helm the remake?
It looks as though his involvement in the project, along with previously attached star Jason Momoa, could be in jeopardy… as it’s unclear whether either remain involved in the truly troubled production.
The one thing we do know? Principal photography is scheduled to begin in 2017.
But that’s not the first time we’ve heard ‘The Crow’ reboot would be filming soon. After all, the project was reportedly nearing production way back in 2015 when it was shelved due to Relativity Media’s bankruptcy filing.
Although the film was a priority for the studio following its emergence from Chapter 11 in April, the reboot soon sputtered out… especially after Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh put the company up for sale last month.
Will ‘The Crow Reborn’ finally begin filming?
More importantly, will Jason Momoa and Corin Hardy remain on board?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
