Avengers: Age Of Ultron Concept Art Reveals Alternative Hulkbusters

Here’s some cool, new concept art from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

It’s no secret that Iron Man has gone through quite a few designs since we saw him don the Mark I armour back in 2008. In fact, ‘Iron Man 3’ poked fun at this, with Tony Stark’s huge array of armours… which were then destroyed by the end of the movie.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ introduced the suit we’ve all been waiting for – the Hulkbuster.

But while it was absolutely glorious, that too went through a few different designs.

Of course, the Hulkbuster is an Iron Man suit which was built out of necessity.

Created to combat a rampaging Hulk (however that might happen), we saw Iron Man suiting up in this colossal, new suit in order to take down his pal after he was driven mad by Scarlet Witch.

Now concept artist Josh Nizzi has shared some of his designs.

And they’re pretty impressive, to say the least.

Of course, that’s not the only concept art Josh Nizzi contributed to the movie… and his portfolio includes some rather terrifying versions of the film’s villain, Ultron.

An old defence system which was given new life by an A.I. construct within Loki’s sceptre, Ultron soon developed a twisted purpose – to eradicate humanity in order to save the Earth. It’s the age-old sci-fi premise… made even more terrifying in this cool, new concept art.

In fact, some of these designs seem to edge more towards classic horror territory, with Ultron looking a lot more bestial than we eventually saw on screen.

And then there’s the six-armed robo-god…

On top of these awesome designs, artist Josh Nizzi also includes a number of alternative versions of the film’s initial villain, Baron von Strucker. Sporting a cybernetic arm along with his enhanced eyepiece, it’s a far more technological villain.

And it does tie in nicely to Ultron.

After all, a villain with so much technology would want to get his hands on the world’s most advanced AI… the one locked within Loki’s sceptre.

Of course, this wasn’t what we eventually saw on screen. But I can’t help thinking these Von Strucker designs make a lot of sense. And they could have linked the film’s two villains in a far-more visual way.

Will the Hulkbuster return? Could we see these designs make it to the big screen?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But surely Iron Man will be needed if Hulk returns.
