Spider-Man: Homecoming Adds Angourie Rice

It looks as though Angourie Rice has joined ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 15-year-old actress has just joined the upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ reboot, alongside Tom Holland.

“Angourie Rice, who recently had a breakout performance in buddy cop movie The Nice Guys opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, has been cast in Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

But who is she?

Angourie Rice is best known as Holly – the daughter of private detective Holland March in the recent hit comedy, ‘The Nice Guys’. But she also starred as the female lead in ‘These Final Hours’ – a post-apocalyptic thriller which opened to a limited release across Australia.

She has also appeared in the ‘Mako Mermaids’ spin-off, ‘Mako: Island of Secrets’.

Who is Angourie Rice playing in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’?

Unfortunately, that remains to be seen…

“Character details for Rice are being kept under wraps, as has been the case with many of the roles in the film, which is currently shooting in Atlanta,” they confirmed. “Marvel and Sony had no comment on Rice’s casting.”

Although there are no solid details on Rice’s casting, it seems likely that the 15-year-old actress will be joining other young, teen stars to make up Peter Parker’s schoolmates. After all, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is reported to return to Spider-Man’s high school days.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man, with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. They’re joined by Tony Revolori, Zendaya, Tyne Daly, Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green and Michael Keaton as the Vulture.

Jon Watts will direct, based on a screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ heads to cinemas on 7 July 2017.
