According to reporter Wendy Kingston of 9 News, these are some of the first scenes shot for the upcoming Marvel sequel, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’…

And this first set image might reveal Hela’s classic comic book look.

But is that Cate Blanchett at all?

It’s no secret that the 47-year-old actress has joined ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ in the role of Hela – the Asgardian goddess of Death. The ruler of Hel and Niffelheim, Hela has been a regular foe for Thor throughout the comic books.

And ‘Thor; Ragnarok’ will introduce her to the big screen.

But we’ve yet to see Cate Blanchett suit up for the role… that is, until now.

Possibly.

Although the above image isn’t exactly a close up, it does depict a female character sitting upon a chair halfway up a set of stone stairways. Dressed entirely in green with the shoulders seemingly missing, this is very reminiscent of Hela’s comic book costume.

And this could be our first look at the character’s big screen debut.

Of course, there’s one thing missing – Hela’s usually lavish headpiece which gives the villainess a far more ethereal look. But that could still appear in the movie. After all, with Blanchett sitting down for a bit, this set picture could have been taken between takes.

And it’s unlikely she would keep the headpiece on at all times.

Will Hela get that classic comic book look?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but it looks likely.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ heads to cinemas on 27 October 2017.
