Hugh Jackman Shaves His Wolverine Sideburns For The Last Time

It’s official – Hugh Jackman has wrapped ‘Wolverine 3’.

The currently untitled ‘Wolverine’ sequel has finished filming… and it’s quite an occasion. After all, this marks the final time Hugh Jackman will suit up as Wolverine. So how do you celebrate the end of an era?

With a close shave, of course…

Hugh Jackman first appeared as the iconic Marvel mutant in the 2000 ‘X-Men’ movie. But that was just the beginning. He’s suited up as Wolverine a total of nine times, including his smaller appearances in ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’.

But now it’s time for him to retract the claws for good…

And finally get rid of those sideburns.

Obviously, a video of his shave was uploaded to Twitter.

I mean, why not?

“My wife will be very happy,” he said. And after 16 years of putting up with those sideburns, you can understand why she might be thrilled at the prospect of a clean-shaved husband.

And this time, it’s for good.

It’s long been reported that the upcoming ‘Wolverine’ sequel will be Jackman’s final stint as the Marvel mutant… and so this is likely his final time with those now-iconic sideburns.

But will he go out in style?

Unfortunately, plot details for ‘Wolverine 3’ have been kept tightly under wraps… but it is rumoured to be based on the seminal ‘X-Men’ comic book, ‘Old Man Logan’. Set far in the future, we find Wolverine reluctantly standing up against the supervillains who have taken over the United States.

And we finally see what Wolverine is like as an old man.

Will this be the storyline we see in ‘Wolverine 3’?

For now, we have to wait and see. Either way, it’s the end of an era.

‘Wolverine 3’ heads to cinemas on 2 March 2017.
